The course is a compulsory subject for students of the 4th year of the bachelor’s program of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technology, which:

will help students to form a better idea of ​​modern changes in economic values ​​(impression economy and the fourth industrial revolution), how to move from idea to innovation process, how to find a sustainable business model for your start-up;

will promote the development of entrepreneurial  mindset in the academic environment, encourage students to think creatively, find solutions and take action to solve problems.

Course Objectives

 help students form a better idea of how to create the desired value, organise the innovation process and make a business model for a startup;

promote entrepreneurial mindset and behaviour, demonstration of leadership qualities;

gain experience working in a team that will turn an idea into a business project;

develop a product prototype and business model for one’s startup with the mentoring support from successful entrepreneurs in relevant fields;

prepare a project concept and get an expert review;

be able to choose a financial model for business scale-up by understanding how financial institutions work in the investment market;

build a promotional strategy, try to establish partnerships with potential investors (“sell” one’s vision);

establish a plan and a framework for the MVP implementation of product or service.

After studying the discipline, students must:

know:

know the basic principles of experience economy,

theoretical foundations of innovation, how to work in conditions of uncertainty and what is entrepreneurship (history, myths and present);

how the method “NABC” – (need-approach-advantage-competition) is used to evaluate the idea of ​​innovation;

clearly understand and explain the motives and prerequisites for starting your own business (start-ups);
Lean Start up method, business models  and what is a minimum viable product (MVP).
how financial institutions work in the investment market, what is venture capital and business angels, their motives and stages of involvement. Financing start-ups without attracting investors (so-called “bootstrapping”).

be able:

identify their opportunities to start their own business;
evaluate the idea of ​​innovative implementation and prospects for its spread in business;
to gather a team that should turn an idea into a real business project, work in a team, demonstrate leadership qualities;
develop a business model for start-up and prepare the concept of “outline of the business model”;
take into account and choose different financial models of business support;
identify and identify potential partners;
build a promotional strategy and present a business project to potential investors.
