Biography
Born on May 21, 1951, in the village of Starostav, Horokhiv district, Volyn region – radiophysicist, PhD (1988), associate professor (1998).
In 1968, he graduated with a gold medal from Horokhiv Secondary School and entered the Faculty of Physics at Lviv State University, graduating in 1973 with a degree in radiophysics.
In 1975-1979, after serving in the military, he worked as an engineer and senior engineer in the research sector.
From 1979 to 1982, he was an assistant at the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Electrical and Radio Engineering (TOER).
From 1982 to 1985, he was a postgraduate student at the Department of TOER.
From 1985 to 1988 – junior researcher of the research sector of the Department of TOER. He was engaged in the development of software for computer-aided design systems for electronic devices.
In 1988, he defended his PhD thesis on “Improving the efficiency of modeling electronic circuits in circuit design automation subsystems” in the specialty 05.13.12 – Design automation systems.
From 1988 to 1994, he was an assistant at the Department of TOER, and from 1994 to the present day – Associate Professor of the Department of Radio Physics and Computer Technologies of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies.
From 1992 to 1995, he worked as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physics for Educational and Academic Affairs.
He was a member of the Council of Young Scientists of the Faculty of Physics, a member of the University’s Publishing Council, a member of the Faculty’s Methodological Council, a member of the Working Group of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the development of the state standard of educational qualification level – junior specialist for the field of Computer Science.
Currently, he is a member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies, a member of the Board of the Franko University Alumni Association.
From 2000 to the present day, he has been the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the College of Natural Sciences of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Hobbies:
Literary studies and bibliophilia, mountain tourism, choral singing.
From 2004 to 2018, he organized and hosted 20 patriotic literary and artistic student evenings at the faculty, including Shevchenko’s Evenings, Evenings in Memory of Vasyl Symonenko, Vasyl Stus, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Evenings dedicated to the anniversaries of the UPA and the Legion of Sich Riflemen.
From 1995 to 2018, he organized and conducted dozens of educational hiking trips with students to the Carpathians (Paraska, Lopata, Kudriavets, Makivka, Magura, Borzhava meadows, Gorgany, etc.)
