The subject of the discipline is the theory of fuzzy sets and fuzzy modeling, as well as the main approaches, tools and instruments of fuzzy set theory and the use of fuzzy and linguistic variables in fuzzy logic systems.

Objective: to acquaint students with the basics of fuzzy modeling to master modern approaches to designing information systems and skills in their application.

Upon completion of this course the student will:

know the basic types and methods of constructing membership functions of fuzzy sets; typical fuzzy inference algorithms; structure, principles of realization and functioning of fuzzy logic systems; methods of analysis of their properties and design tools;

be able to apply, implement and operate modern information systems and technologies to obtain a fuzzy inference (production, decision support, data mining) in various fields of human activity, national economy and production in terms of incomplete or approximate information.
