Two scientists of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies were awarded the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists for 2022

On December 20, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “On Awarding the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Young Scientists for 2022”, reg. No. 10309, which awarded 50 Prizes of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to young scientists for 2022, including 2 scientists from the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies for the work “Structure and physical properties of thin films based on gallium and yttrium oxides as elements of transparent electronics”:

Ivanna Medvid – PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;

Kofliuk Iryna Mykolaivna – Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Physics and Nanomaterials, Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;

In total, 62 works by 108 applicants were submitted to the competition during martial law in 2022 and the Committee received 62 works by 108 applicants. Thus, the competition amounted to 1.24 works per Prize.

The Joint Competition Commission examined and ranked the applications for the 2022 Verkhovna Rada Prize for Young Scientists and on November 24, 2023, adopted a decision recommending that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation support the respective applications of the winners of the competition.

The adoption of this Resolution, in the opinion of the Committee, will contribute to the preservation of scientific potential, increase the prestige of scientists and their role in society, financial support for young scientists – winners of the competitive selection, consolidation of young scientists in domestic scientific institutions, creation of conditions for the realization of the intellectual potential of scientists in the field of scientific and scientific and technical activities, development of science and scientific and technical activities, increase of the state’s defense capability, stimulation of its innovative development.
