The experience of the course “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in IT” is now available at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic!

Associate Professor Igor Katernyak, who is a lecturer and specialist at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies, not only shares his expertise but also expands the impact of his course in other countries. This year, he joined the STEM School of Management – Department of Business as a lecturer of the course “Entrepreneurship: Small Business Planning” at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic.

This graduate course, designed for master’s graduates, focuses on small business development and entrepreneurship planning. During the semester, students actively apply the knowledge gained to create their own companies and, under the guidance of Ihor Kateryak, present unique business plans with innovation and practicality.

This initiative opens up new opportunities for young innovators, shaping their understanding of entrepreneurship and inspiring them to create promising business projects. The course “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in IT” becomes a catalyst for students who actively put their knowledge into practice and are ready to contribute to the business world.

Back in the summer of 2023, the University of Wisconsin-Stout announced that a course on entrepreneurship and startups would be offered at their university.

M. Spaeth’s appointment as chair of the business department this fall also provided an opportunity for I. Kateryak to act as a consultant and virtual visiting professor in UW-Stout’s Entrepreneurship Capstone course, where teams innovate and create startups.

I. Kateryak shared with the students his recently published book “Innovation Spring in Tech Startups”. M. Spaeth will assist students in writing their theses, and I. Kateryak will share his experience, knowledge and views on innovation, entrepreneurship and the idea of startups.

“This will be a deep collaboration,” said M. Spaeth. “Expanding the cooperation will allow many of I. Katerniak’s students in Ukraine to interact with our students as we continue to build our partnership.”
