Опис навчальної дисципліни

The course “Organization of databases and knowledge” examines the basic concepts, approaches and means of organizing databases and knowledge, data models and working with modern relational databases. The main attention is paid to the study of the peculiarities of data organization in the relational data model, approaches to the design of relational databases, the main capabilities of the language of structured SQL queries for interaction with a relational database, as well as the assimilation of knowledge and the acquisition of skills corresponding to the current situation in the field of database management systems and knowledge, the ability to practically apply the acquired knowledge. During training, students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with such database management systems as Microsoft Access, LibreOffice Base, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Server.

The subject of study of the educational discipline is the field of designing information systems, particularly databases and knowledge, database management systems, and means of developing and organizing databases of various levels of complexity and purpose.

A laboratory course is provided to consolidate theoretical knowledge.
