On September 1, 2024, a solemn meeting with new students took place at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies
On September 1, 2024, the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies hosted a solemn meeting of freshmen with the faculty administration. The event was held according to a clearly defined schedule, where students of different specialties met with their mentors, teachers, representatives of the administration and leading IT companies.
The meeting was organized in two stages, according to the specialties. During the event, the freshmen were greeted by Dean Yuriy Furgala, Deputy Deans for Academic Affairs Marta Dufanets, for Research and Education Serhiy Velgosh, as well as department heads and teachers. Along with teachers and students, future employers are very important participants in the educational process, as they have a significant impact on the formation of the educational environment and help in the modernization of academic disciplines. So, we were visited by invited guests who conveyed firsthand information about the contribution of each company to the development of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technologies:
– Olga Dolya, manager of the SoftServe Talent Development Center in Lviv.
– Ihor Kostiv, Vice President of GlobalLogic.
– Volodymyr Bigday – Chief Systems Engineer at Infineon Technologies, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics.
– Ulyana Smut, Director of SiTime, and Serhiy Machek, Head of the company’s system and technical department.
– Oleh Leskiv, manager of educational projects at Lviv IT Cluster, spoke about cooperation with the faculty and the opportunities provided by the cluster for students.
The students were also greeted by representatives of the student government, Oleh Finiak and Vladyslav Savchuk. They told the new students about the main advantages of student life at our faculty.
The meeting ended with the introduction of students to their advisors who will help them during their studies.
