Biography

Born on August 20, 1950 in the village of Trach, Kosiv district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 1972, he graduated from the physics faculty of Ivan Franko Lviv University. From 1972 to 1974, he worked at the Ivan Franko University of Lviv (Lviv). From 1974 to 1988, he worked at the Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Lviv). In 1978, he entered correspondence postgraduate studies at the Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where he studied until 1982. After completing postgraduate studies at the beginning of 1983, he defended his PhD thesis on the specialty 01.02.04 – Mechanics of deformable solids. From 1988 to the present, he worked and continues to work at the Physical and Mechanical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the positions of senior researcher and leading researcher. The defense of the doctoral thesis took place in September 1999, specialty 02.04.07 – solid state physics. The scientific degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences was awarded on January 12, 2000. Member of the specialized academic council K 35.874.02 at the Lviv State University of Life Safety, specialty 05.13.22 — project and program management.
