Research interests

Research interests: nonlinear differential equations of thermoelasticity and optimization methods. His PhD thesis is devoted to the study of the thermoelastic state of shells using numerical mathematical methods. He studied shells and plates made of thermosensitive material with consideration of geometric nonlinearity. In his doctoral dissertation, he studied the stress-strain state of a structure under the influence of force and temperature factors. Iterative and computer methods for solving nonlinear differential equations were used.

Biography

In 1969, he graduated from Lviv Secondary School No. 11, and in 1974 from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in Applied Mathematics. He worked at the Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ivan Franko State University of Lviv in 1974-1996. In 1978, he defended his PhD thesis on mathematical methods of optimization and modeling in Lviv. He also worked as Head of the Department of Numerical Methods of Mechanics at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 1990, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Kazan. He developed models of nonlinear thermoelasticity and used numerical optimization methods. On September 15, 1991, he was elected a full member of the Academy of Informatization of the USSR (Moscow) based on the set of scientific papers and direction. Since 1992, he has been a professor and head of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Ivan Fedorov Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute (now the Ukrainian Academy of Printing). Professor of the Department of Electronic Publishing at this university.

He has been working at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture since 1995, in 1997-1999 he was a professor at the Department of TIMOSS. From 2006 to 2012 he was a professor at the Department of Economics, Informatics and Kinesiology. Member of the specialized academic council for the defense of dissertations at Lviv State University of Physical Culture (2005-2012). He teaches courses “Applied Mathematics” and “Computer Science for Postgraduates”.
